A new 2D Prince of Persia is in development using Rayman Legends' UbiArt Framework engine, according to a report posted by French website Le Portail du Jeu Video.
The site claims to have been told that the game will use "the same techniques of animation [as used] in the last Rayman" and see the Prince's body "divided into several parts (torso, pelvis, leg, shin, foot, forearm, hands, etc..) that can be animated independently of each other.

A fresh, 2D entry in the Prince of Persia series is in the works at Ubisoft, according to a new report.
French outlet Portail du Jeu Video (via Videogamer) claims that this new Prince of Persia title will make use of the UbiArt Framework, the same gorgeous engine that powers last year's hit platformer Rayman Legends as well as the upcoming ethereal RPG Child of Light.
Ubisoft has declined to comment on the report, but with E3 fast approaching, there's a good chance we'll hear more about the rumored title very soon—that is, of course, if the game is even in development.

Character design to be inspired by Rayman.
The site claims to have been told that the game will use "the same techniques of animation [as used] in the last Rayman" and see the Prince's body "divided into several parts (torso, pelvis, leg, shin, foot, forearm, hands, etc..) that can be animated independently of each other.
"This provides a real diversity / credibility in the postures and movements of the hero...," the site says. "The quality of the work is to believe [it is] 3D modelling [with] transitions [that are] are fluid and feel well made."
Ubisoft has yet to announce a new title in the Prince of...

IM PLAYIN takes a look at Rayman Legends.
"Ryman Legends may well be the (if not one of) the best games that Ive played on the Xbox One so far. The problem with it is, however, that my reasons for loving it are relatively short. You cant get many words out of it because you cant get many words out of the sentence, its a brilliant game and it reminds me of being a kid again. So Im going to pad this review out with a quick tale from my childhood. Thats right, its a backstory story."
